By car
The hotel is within easy reach of anywhere on the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road and from any highway by following the signs for Rome "Centro" and Termini.
From North Rome: Take the "Salaria" exit on the "Grande Raccordo Anulare" in the direction of the "Centro". Drive to the end of Via Salaria and follow the signs for Termini Station. On your arrival at the station you will see Via Cavour. Drive ahead for circa 200 meters to no. 47.
From South Rome: When you leave the highway, continue as far as the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road in the direction of "Appia". Take the "Appia - direzione centro" exit and drive ahead to San Giovanni. Then take Via Merulana in the direction of Santa Maria Maggiore, following the signs for Termini Station.
By train
Our hotel is just 200 meters from Termini Station in Rome where you will find various bus and subway lines to bring you around the city.
From Termini Station take Via Cavour. We await you at no. 47.
By plane
The nearest airport is Ciampino, about 23 km from the hotel. You can easily arrive to the hotel with a taxi or take a train for Termini. Fiumicino airport is 25 km away. A special NON-STOP train service runs every half hour to bring you to Termini Station. From here you can reach the hotel in a few minutes on foot, taking Via Cavour.

Hotel Argentina boasts a very central position: Termini Station is located to one side and the main street of Via Nazionale is on the other side. The splendid archeological area around the Colosseum is also located nearby. Once you walk to Piazza della Repubblica, which is just 350 meters away, you can visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, created by Michelangelo between 1563 and 1566, having used the central part of the Diocletian Baths to complete his work. Inside one can find a particular feature: the sundial on the floor of the building commissioned by Clement XI in 1703 to indicate midday. The surrounding walls have twelve altar pieces, including those painted by Dominichino, Carlo Marata, Francesco Romanelli and Pomarancio. On your arrival into the square you will see the Naiad Fountain which was built in 1888. In 1901 four bronze nymphs on sea monsters were sculpted by Mario Rutelli and added to the fountain.
Keeping to the right, walk down Via Emanuele Orlando and immediately after The Grand Hotel you will arrive to the Moses Fountain, which was created in 1587 by Domenico Fontana.
From the other side of the square you can reach the Church of Santa Susanna, built on the site where the young saint lived. She was killed because she refused to marry Emperor Diocletian's son. From here you can walk back down Via Emanuele Orlando. On passing the fountain and the gardens you will arrive in front of one of the locations of the Polo Museale Nazionale Romano, a museum hosting a vast collection of Roman and Hellenic sculptures, and an interesting numismatic section, with coins dating back to the Empire up to the end of the medieval period. Go straight ahead on exiting the museum, leaving Termini Station on your left. Walk down Via Cavour for about 100 meters until you arrive to Piazzale dell' Esquilino.
From here you can see the back of the majestic Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. It was established by Pontiff Liberius in 352 A.D. after a vision of the Virgin Mary appeared to him and restored by Sixtus III after the Council of Ephesus in 431. It hosts important medieval mosaics by Jacopo Torriti and numerous frescos, including those by Guido Reni. Continuing down Via Cavour, you will arrive to a flight of steps that leads to the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli, famous as it hosts the statue of Moses by Michelangelo in the mausoleum of Julius II. On exiting the building walk towards Via Eudossiana where you will arrive to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Arch of Constantine and the most modern monument in Rome, the "Altare della Patria" in Piazza Venezia.
